Animated Atrocities: The Scarecrow

Description

Like many said, if you made an animated film in the 90's & early 2000's and your name isn't Disney, your film is doomed.

However, this time instead of a well-known fairy tale, Warner Bros. made an animated movie that is based of a short story titled "Feather Top."
They could've done a lot better if they had stick with most the original material instead of trying to copy the Disney formula, like they did the first two times with "Thumbelina" & "Quest For Camelot."

It isn't really that hard to make an animated film that doesn't including musical numbers, point-less goofy sidekicks, and happy endings to keep the audiences' (including children) attention or leave a powerful impact on them.
Sure it might be bad that the main character doesn't end up with the one they love and/or even dies alone in the end, but even in fairy tales & folk lore, we can't deny that not everyone gets what they want in life, including a whole happy ending.

(After viewing both of these, take your pick to see which one you think is better)

I actually find this movie to be a guilty pleasure of mine, but I respect your opinion. :pat:
