I may not be a huge fan of Betty Boop, but I do enjoy her cartoons as well some of the other classic cartoons that are made in the 20's, 30's, and 40's.
Plus I love the pairing of her and Bimbo.
And you know why? Because they were the very first humanxanthro pairing in cartoon history (long before Roger and Jessica Rabbit)!
But in the early years of cartoon history, Betty was first animated as anthro dog (which back then she looked really ugly), and Bimbo was kind of animated as a Goofy-bootleg. Those were pretty much boyfriendxgirlfriend for years.
Later the Fleisher Brothers, changed the looks of Bimbo from an anthro labador to an anthro terrier, and they desided to make Betty become a human to make her look cutier and better, but they still make her be Bimbo's girlfriend.
Those two were quiet a couple, in the cartoon short called "The Bum Bandit" (which was one of the cartoons where Betty was still a dog, and it shows a darker side of the couple), they were married and have 17 kids (must've had great nights together
), and in "The Mask-arade" (which is a cartoon where Betty is now a human) Betty even asked Bimbo to marry her.^^
But then the Production Code censorship (or the PCC) elimenated Bimbo from the Betty Boop cartoon cause they found their relationship bestiality.
No wonder in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?", Betty says that Jessica was lucky to marry Roger Rabbit, cause Jessica gets to keep her anthro husband, but Betty doesn't.
Who cares if Bimbo was anthro dog and Betty was a human, they are one of the cutest couples I've seen in cartoon history (I think they are better then MickeyxMinnie).
Bimbo may be a pervert, but his WAY more cutier and charming then all of those lame and ugly human suiters they paired Betty up with.
And without them, there wouldn't be no RogerxJessica Rabbit or any other humanxanthro pairings here in toon fandom at all.
However, Bimbo is still featured in Betty in some of her merchadice.
This is the first time drawing them, and I hope the people at the
love to have this in their gallery.

Here's a fun fact about The Bum Bandit: Rather than Mae Questel, Betty was voiced by Harriet Lee in that short, which is why she has a lower voice in that show.
