Favorite Male Pokemon Characters

Description

A sequel to the Favorite Female Pokemon characters kessielou.deviantart.com/art/M… , with the male characters this time.

#10.) Clement: One of the new Gym Leaders in the Kalos region (Pokemon X & Y). I don't know how Clement is like in the anime, but I have to say he has brains that'll make Dexter from "Dexter's Lab" more like an amateur(I'm not kidding).

*Spoiler's Alert* I also like how his gym looks like the Eiffel Tower on the outside, but on the inside it's built like an elevator and game show.

#09.) The "Pokemon Origins" & video game version of Brock: Sure the anime Brock is a nice guy, but as the seasons went by....he just became a Flanderized character with the tiring gag of him falling for EVERY woman Ash & friends had contact with -_-; .
However the "Origins" anime and the video games, Brock is so much more respective and actually gives your player some advice on how to raise and train your Pokemon.

And you Gen 1 hipsters say that you want him to be the same blithering idiot you've seen in 10 seasons! (don't you even get tried of that gag? )
Have you seen the female gym leaders in the Unova & Kalos region? The guy would die of a heart-attack just by seeing most of them.

#08.) (tie) Tracey, Todd, & Cilian : It's a three way tie with the other male characters that traveled with the lead characters.

-Tracey may not be like Brock, but at least he's a breath of fresh air and gave us a break from Brock's stupid running gag

-Todd was an okay small-hit wonder

-Cilian is an under-appreciated character that deserves more respect

#07.) The male rivals in the games (not pictured): Most of them are helpful on your journey. I even like Silver, sure he was a total jerk, but you have to feel sorry for him (his father is Giovanni from Team Rocket).

#06.) Gary Oak : Even though Gary was a total jerk in the beginning, but I must say that he is one of the most developed characters and actually became more likable.
When he isn't rubbing his accomplishments Ash's face, he cares for his Pokemon very much. So much that he decided to give up on competing with Ash and care on the family business as a researcher.

#05.) (tie) Pikachu & Meowth:  They are both males and they are characters, so how can they not be counted?

*Over-rated or not, I still think that Pikachu is one of the cutest Pokemon I've seen and heard (his voice still make me squeal like a little girl  ). And it really bugs me that people put Pikachu on the list of "Most Annoying Characters" because he can only talk in his species' tongue/cry when 98% of the Pokemon do the same damn thing!:X

*Even though I don't like Team Rocket, the only member I can't stay made at is Meowth. In a way he's like Furball from "Tiny Toons" gone wrong (instead of a happy life after being an orphan, he became a thief because nobody wanted him), and I soft spot for cute kitties (even if some of them are evil) ^^

The reason why I put both of them together in one spot is because once in a blue moon, despite being enemies most of the time Pikachu and Meowth actually can be the best of friends when they are separated from their partners/trainers/friends.
After all they are sort of alike in origin wise.

#04.) Ash Ketchum (depending on the versions): While Ash in the anime series is reduced to a Flanderized character for the past years, in the manga series and some of the fan-made series however Ash is more developed instead of being a "blank slate"... and a dummy.
My personal favorite versions of Ash Ketchum are in the "Electric Tales of Pikachu" manga and the "Dear Dad" series.

*In "Electric Tales of Pikachu" Ash does show some signs that he is actually growing up and getting stronger on his journey. Dealing with the dangers of the wild world, and accepting the fact that he's pushing into his teen years before he knows it (he's very awkward around women and had a monster-crush on Gary's older sister).

*In the "Dear Dad" fan-series, it really makes Ash a more sympathetic character and gives him another reason why he wanted to go on the Pokemon journey so badly.
"Dear Dad" show that Ash is looking for closure with his father who left him & his mom years ago, and he wants to prove to his dad that he has become a better man than him.

That kind of trait did happened in the first season episode, "Pokemon Emergency," when Deliah mentioned to Ash about his father, he felt uncomfortable about it because Ash though that his father left the family because he was a disappointment.:(.....Too bad that trait was never brought up.

#03.) Mewtwo: There's a reason why Mewtwo is praised as one of the best Pokemon. He's a badass, a troubled-soul, a mastermind, and one of the few deep and complex characters the anime and the movies gave us.
And one of the few best performances of 4Kids VA, Dan Green.

As for those who are mad that Mewtwo is a female in the latest/recent movie, the Mewtwo in that movie was a different one.
If there can be 2 Mews (4 if you also count the Shinys), it wouldn't be no surprise if there can also another Mewtwo.

It could be possible that one of the TR scientists was a spy for Team Plasma, and stole the formula to create a Mewtwo of their own.
And the reason Team Plasma's Mewtwo is a female, is because they didn't have the right equipment to create a male one (a Jurassic Park reference)

#02.) N: I see N as a Disney Prince of the anime, manga, and games (in a good way). Rarely have any contact from the outside world, evil relative, has a special bond with animals (Pokemon), a little cocky, and very mysterious.

For the theory about N being a Zoroark, I think it's the other way around.

#01.) AZ: I won't spoil too much about him (for those who haven't played X & Y yet), but I can say his backstory and relationship with a new Pokemon would leave lots of tear to one's eyes.
