May I say anymore?
It is true about the media of the late 90's and early 2000's are mostly on hate.
As I remember, back in my teen years, everyone hated Hilary Duff. They even made a hate-club about her on DA once (but I think it's closed now).
But when Miley Cyrus came to the picture, mostly everyone hated her and miss Hilary Duff now.
The only differences about the hatered between the two girls is that Hilary was hated for something she didn't do or never done, while Miley was hated for something that she did (the naughty pictures).
And the most people that hated Hilary were just a bunch of jealous Joel Madden fangirls.
Even when they broke up, those fangirls still hated her because she was popular.
It's like the Disney Channel said, "If you guys thought the people we have on air in the past were bad, wait until you see what we have in store in the future."
It's not just the Duff-Cyrus issue there's also:
McCartney-Bieber: People (mostly jealous guys) Jesse McCartney in the past. When Justin Bieber came, they miss McCartney (especially his old music style).
Loonatics-Looney Tunes Show: Crazy Looney-Tune weeboos hated Loonatics Unleashed and wanted Looney Tunes back, their wish was granted and look what happened. I bet new art-style and writing really grinds their teeth.
Symone-Gomez: People hated Ravensymone and "That's so Raven" because they thought the show was corny and giving pshychics bad names. When Selena Gomez came with "Wizards of Whaverliy Place," that show was twice as corny and makes wizards and sorcerorores look bad. Plus, Raven Symone is a much better female comedian then Gomez will ever be.
And many more.
It's like the new generation is a big slap-in-the-face-with-a-shovel.
As if network programing and movie producers made those new bad shows on purpose to make us regret what we said in the past.

I feel bad for child pop stars, if anything. There is so much rampant child abuse and grooming in the industry, that no wonder they turn to drugs and/or sex work to cope with their trauma. There needs to be an intervention here.
