Fun fact: The origin of the Togepi species name is a combination of the Japanese words "toge" (meaning 'spike' ) and "pi" (as appose to a chirping noise of a bird). So that explains why the cry of Togepies always trill during the "pi" (and forshadowing that it'll become a Flying type when it evolves), and why it's called the Spike-Ball Pokemon.
