Summer Meets Fall

Description

I had to submit this while it's still August, because August is indeed a month that is between seasons of Summer & Fall, which is what Marissa & Hayworth represent respectively.

And, yes, these two are one of the several couples in my "Battle Royal" series. (get your minds out of the gutter if you think about anything "dirty" between them  ).

Some of you might be thinking "Why couldn't Marissa be paired up with the prince she fell for years ago or his descendant?" "And doesn't the Scarecrow already have a girlfriend in the form of Dorothy and/or Patchwork Girl?"

My answers:
1.) The prince in "The Little Mermaid" was already married to someone else, and 300 years had past, so the prince is way past dead. And his living descendant is a happily married old man, so there's no chances for Marissa to be with either one of them.

2.) While Dorothy is 17-18 years old in the classic movie, but in the books....she wasn't at a legal age. So the relationship between her & the Scarecrow were more like brother & sister.

3.) Hardly anybody knows about the Oz book sequels, so many don't know who Patchwork Girl is. And seeing how she looks like this vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/o…, she wouldn't stand a chance against the people who are racially sensitive, those who fear anything that resembles a clown, or the modern shallow minds.^^;

4.) These are alternatives of their book counterparts, so their original love-interests aren't even canon.

As for the reasons why I paired these two up & how their chemistry goes:
*They're both klutzes, so their "Meet Cute" literally had them bump & trip over each other :giggle:
*They both went great lengths & sacrifices to get what they wanted in life (a soul & a brain)
*They both thought that magic and/or magical beings could give what they want, only to discover they had what they wanted all along
*Even though Marissa is in a state of depression (can you blame her?), Hayworth's natural comedic & scatter-brained attitude could easily put a smile right back on her face
*They both could learn about each other's cultures, even if Marissa could only speak in sign language or write what she says whatever she has with her (until her tongue is fully healed & could speak again)
*Hayworth understands what it is like to be lost in the world, and be something one's not sure of (like being a living scarecrow or a mermaid revived as a half human/half Atlantian)

What do you think?

The Little Mermaid character belongs to Hans Christian Anderson
Scarecrow character belongs to L.Frank Baum, MGM, and Warner Bros.

Is that supposed to be Anna form frozen with the scarecrow in Wizard of Oz?

(also in the classic 30's movie Dorothy is supposed to be about 10-12 but the actress was in her teens and she just had to make her voice a bit more high pitched and act younger)
