The Wiz of Oz: Chapt 10

  Alphonzo watched as Kimberley and the guys were heading their way to Emerald City.

"Curses!" he shouted, "They foiled my trap!"

Then he started to think up another idea.

"But I bet they won't be able to foil this one," Alphonzo said as he got up from his chair and grabbed one of his magic elements from his shelf.

"Hey boss, what are ya gonna do with that sleeping dust?" asked one of the flying monkies

"Pay close attention to the image I'll show on my crystal ball," Alphonzo said back

He moved his right hand around the crystal ball until their was an image of a field of flowers on it.

"Poppy flowers?" asked the tallest Flying Monkey, "But I thought you hate flowers, boss."

"I do (they make my skin crawl), but that's where those fools are heading to next, and once I cast a spell on the poppies with this sleeping dust, they'll be sleep puffing-weeds in discuise," said Alphonzo

"Once that girl and her knobs take a wiff of the seeds that has the dust in them, they'll forget all about their journey and fall asleep for a decade."

Alphonzo took one hand full of the sleeping dust, and throws it at the crystal ball, but the dust didn't land on the ball, it fell from the sky where the poppy field is, and the dust landed on them.



It wasn't too long before the gang made it to where the poppy field is, which it was on both sides of the Yellow Brick road.

"The green lights are getting bigger, that means we're getting close!" Kim said with excitement.


The guys all began to run with Kimberley down the Yellow Brick road to get to Emerald City really fast.
As they were running pass the poppies, the poppies began to puff out small seeds in small clouds.
The sleeping seeds didn't effect Scarecrowjack, Tin Duck, nor Water Dog, but the scent of them reached Kim's nose.

Kim slowly began to stop running.

"Wait you guys, I can't run anymore" Kim said without even being exhausted

"Come on Kimmy, we can't stop now" said Scarecrowjack

"Emerald City is just a mile away from here" added Tin Duck

"Sorry, but I just feel very tired" Kimberley yawned

"You have stay awake if you want the Wizard to grant your wish today," Water Dog said to Kim

"W.D, you just got to chill and relax a bit," Kim said looking all drowzy

"Now where's Pluto?"

Kimberley found Pluto sleeping in the right side of the poppy field, and she started to asleep by him.

"Wake up, Kim! Don't give up now!" Tin Duck said with worriness as he shaked Kim to wake her up

Then Cowardly Lion-Rat started to feel dizzy as well.

"You know what guys," he yawned "Kimberley's right we should stay here in this poppy field for a while."

"Don't you asleep on us too," Water Dog said as he and Scarecrowjack try to prevent Lion-Rat from fainting and fall asleep, but Lion-Rat instantely fell asleep and landed in the left side of the poppy field.

Tin Duck turned around and spoke to Scarecrowjack and Water Dog.

"It's no use guys," said Tin Duck "I can't get Kim to wake up"

"We can't get Grim up either," Scarecrowjack said the same thing about the Cowardly Lion-Rat


Then Water Dog suddenly notice the poppies puffing the seeds.

"This is odd," he said

"Since when do flowers puff out their seeds like an eletric air-freshiner?"

Tin Duck grabbed some seeds that were puffed out of the poppies, and took a very good look at them.

"Guys! These aren't poppy seeds!" he said to his friends, "Take a look at them!"

Scarecrowjack and Water Dog gathered up to see what Tin Duck was talking about.

"How can you tell?" Scarecrowjack asked

"Well normal poppy seeds are blue, these are black" Tin Duck explained

"Then what are they?" asked Water Dog

Tin Duck picked up one of the seeds and crumbled it until it was nothing but purple specks.

"It's sleeping dust!!!" all three gasped

"Alphonzo must be behind this just to stop us from seeing the Wizard," Scarecrowjack pointed out the obvious

"Let's get Kimberley, Grim, and the dog away from the field and just have keep on going to Emerald City" Water Dog suggested

Tin Duck started to carry Kim, Scarecrowjacked carried Pluto, and Water Dog started to carry the Cowardly Lion-Rat until they were ten feet away from the poppy field, place them on a flat grassy surface.

"It's not going to work, we need to wake them up somehow" Scarecrowjack said to Water Dog

"I am the magic that amazes you!" said a voice

"I am the cloak that can turn you invisable, I am Glenn the Warlock of the North."

Glenn appeared in puff of smoke in front of the gang.

"Whoa, looks like some one's being partying too hard tonight," he said as he looked at the sleeping Kim, Pluto, and Lion-Rat

"No don't understand, you warlockdry" Tin Duck said to Glenn, "The Wicked Warlock of the West cast a spell on them and they won't get up."

"He did it by using the scent of those poppies" added Scarecrowjack

"You think you can cast a spell to wake them up?" finished the Water Dog

Glenn replied, "Of course, but first I need to get rid of the sleeping spell on those flowers."

He waved his wand and a large cloud appeared and started to snow on the flowers, freezing off the sleeping dust.

Pluto was the first to wake up cause he couldn't smell the dust anymore.

"Well you got Pluto up, now what about Kim?" Tin Duck asked

"There's only one thing to do (hope the Wizard for gives me for this)," Glenn said as he looks at Kimberley

Glenn created a static lighting bolt with his wand, and gve Kim quite a shock.

"I'M AWAKE! I'M AWAKE!" Kim said as she jumped up with her looking all frizzy

"What happened?"

"You fell asleep in the poppy fields cause of Alphonzo's magic, and Glenn came and undo the spell" said Water Dog

"But was it nessesary for him to shock with his wand?" Kim asked looking unhappy

"Well it certainely wasn't your prince charming that woke up like that, Medusa" Scarecrowjack said, trying not to laugh at Kim's hair

Then Lion-Rat started to wake-up.

"What did I miss?' he asked, then he looked at Kim and her frizzy hair

Lion-Rat screamed and fainted to ground, while the others weren't trying to laugh at Kim's hair either

"Well," Glenn said as he tried hold in his laugh "Good luck on your visit to see the Wizard now."

"And I'll make sure that snake in the grass Alphonzo doesn't hurt you either."


Alphonzo watched the whole entire thing on his crytal ball, and heard what Glenn said about him.

"I really loathe that guy!" he grumbled to himself
