Continuing from the "Worst Mothers" meme: [link]
And just in time for "Mother's Day," here are the best animated mothers.
These are the ladies help our favorite characters grow, and help us girls what to do when we want to be mothers one day.^^
10.) Marge Simpson (The Simpsons): Can't have the list without her. Comedical, supporting, and smart, Marge is a good mother (unlike Lois Griffin in the later seasons of "Family Guy" paranoid: )
09.) Marsupinamie/Namie (Marsupilami): Mars' cute and sassy mate, is also a loving mother of three adorable babies.
And with a tail that is as strong as her husbands, she'll clobber any poacher who'll try to hurt their kids.
08.) Vanilla Rabbit (Sonic the Hedgehog): If Snow White was an anthro rabbit and a mother, Cream's mother, Vanilla, would be the closest thing to that.
Though it still boggles the mind to question does Tails or Charmy have any parents (because they are under the age of 13).
07.) Kanga (Winnie the Pooh): Not only is Kanga is a nurturing mother toward her son, Roo, but she's also like a mother-figure toward the other characters.
She's like the lady next-door that act like an aunt toward you.
06.) Helen Parr/Elasti-Girl/Mrs. Incredible (The Incredibles): Talk about super-mom! And with elastic powers, there isn't anything her kids can throw at her she can't catch.
05.) Bambi's Mother (Bambi): What made that infamous death scene of Bambi's mom (or Gena, as what some called her) so sad was that she was such a wise and caring soul, and has a comforting voice that made Bambi feel safe from any harm.
And it was sad for Bambi to lose her at such a young age on a world of predators and poachers.
04. Little Foot's mom (The Land Before Time): Unlike Bambi's mother, Little Foot's mom did tried to fight off Sharptooth the T-Rex instead of running away from him.
But unfortunately, the fight and the earthquake cost her life.
At least Little Foot got to see her one last time, and get to hear her last words that she'll be in his heart even when she's dead. All Bambi heard was a gun-shot.
03. Mrs. Jumbo (Disney's Dumbo): Mrs. Jumbo taught us girls one thing if we want to be great mothers, "Always love your children, not matter what he/she looks like."
And I think her snooty sisters need to learn that, because what if they had calves that are so ugly, Jumbo Jr./Dumbo is the normal one compare to them.
02.) Sally O'Mally-McDodd (Horton Hears a Who)- I don't understand why people (especially Ned fangirls) hate her?
Sally is actually a nice and funny supporting character.
Even if she admit that Ned was acting crazy, she still stay by his side no matter what people say.
Plus, she gave birth to 97 kids, and manages to keep them all in line, remember their names, and would never give them up for anything.
And so far, Sally is about the only best mother of the Seuss-movie adaptations (until IE comes up with a reasonable excuse for the mother from "The Cat in the Hat" to leave her kids alone without a baby-sitter).
And the best animated mother (in my opinion) is....
01.) Mrs. Brisby (The Secret of NIMH): After losing her husband, and with her third child Timmy falling very ill on the day the farmer plows the field, Mrs. Brisby would try anything to save her family.
Even if it seems too dangerous, or too risky.
And she really did gone through a lot in the book and the film.
Mrs. Brisby, not only was your film a gem, but you deserve be the best animated mom!
Happy Mother's Day!
