Turtle Gens: April O'Neil

Description

These Turtle Generation pictures are giving me lots of requests to draw other TMNT characters.

This time it's the Turtles' leading lady and best human friend, April O'Neil.

1. The Original 1984 Mirage Comics Design: This is what April originally look like in the comics, and that gives another point of the comics that the first live-action movie got right.

Though the image that I saw of the original April had lots of darker colors, and I almost mistook her for an African-American (her skin did look really dark).

2. The 1987 Cartoon Design: Now here's the April that 80's and 90's fanboys fall on their knees for.
This April here is portrayed as a News Reaporter, instead of Baxter's assistant (like in the comics and 2003 cartoon), and she was sort of like the Lois Lane to the Turtles' Superman.

But then again, despite her being caputered in several episodes (not in all of them), April had a lot more flaws and seems more realatible.

Plus, if you actually look closely at April's face, in some epsiodes she looks like an anime character (like in this picture).

3. The 2003 Cartoon Design: Now this here I think is a lot worser than the older one.
Not only was her design kind of ugly, she was a too much of a perfectionist and bland.
Plus, I really didn't care for the pairing of her and Casey (mostly because I'm not a fan of Casey, and the smart girl & dumb guy pairing is so cliche).

4. The 2007 Movie/Back to the Sewers Design: Despite the design looking better than the last one, she still has the same personality as the 2003 one.
Plus with Casey's new design, it just make him and April look like adult-versions of Kevin 11 and Gwen Tennson from "Ben 10." (except Kevin had brains, and the pairing of him and Gwen works better).

5. My Design/Take: Now my version of April has the origin of the 2003 and 84 Aprils, the brains of 2007 movie version, but has the flaws (as well as traits) of the 87 April.
She actually lived with the Turtles for a while, until she finds an appartment and goes off to search for a job (since she quit working for Baxter, after discovering his dark secret).

As for the rest of her new personality, let me put it this way: She's like an adult version of Jane from "Peter Pan 2," a white American version of Tiana from TPatF, Bulma from "Dragon Ball," and Nani from "Lilo and Stitch."

And while April is 16 in the upcoming 2012 cartoon, my version of April is 18.
