Different Styles of Scarecrow

Description

I know I said I wouldn't do the villains until October, but I didn't want you guys to wait very long.

I was original gonna do The Penguin next, but unfortunatly some rude troll did a drawing of him before me (and very poorly, I might added :bleh: ), so to avoid from being falsely excused of "copy-righting," I'll submit the sketches of the Penguin later.

But for now, the villain I drew here is Professor Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow.

#01. The Hannah-Barbera version: Yelch! I've heard that Hannah-Barbera's art-style was bad, but here I agree with those people.:bleh:
What's worse is that this Scarecrow is nothing like his comic-book counter-part, and they rarely used him in the "Superfriends" cartoons.

#02. The early seasons of Batman Animated Series: Minus the disgraceful one in the "Superfriends" cartoons, the reason why Scarecrow wasn't added in the other Batman TV Shows, was because the original Scarecrow was rather too scary for the younger audiences (which is reasonable).

So this version here is rather tamed looking.

#03. The later seasons of Batman Animated Series: It's improvement of the last one, and more convening.

#04. The 1998 New Batman Adventures version: From what I've heard on the Batman Arkham Files documentary, the artists thought that a guy with a scarecrow costume wasn't very scary at all (though they might've regret for saying that after seeing how many people were afraid of a certain chain-saw using movie villain), so they changed his look completely in this series.

The voice for the Scarecrow was better, but the design looks more like an undertaker than a scarecrow.:hmm:

#05. "The Batman" series version (scrapped) : Okay, who let the artists of "Panty & Stocking" draw one of their characters here?

#06. "The Brave and the Bold" version: Basically just a shadier version of the first Scarecrow from BTAS.

#07. The Nolan movie version: Eh! Not very scary looking :hmm:

#08. The Arkham video-games version: Not an exact mirror image, but at least I've tried. ^^;

#09. My version: The design of my vision of Scarecrow is based on the look of Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and a few other terrifying scarecrow pictures I've googled for.

As for his background story, it's a mix between the original of the Scarecrow & the background of another (yet very lousy) villain The Ten-Eyed Man:

*Jonathan Crane was a total coward for all of his life, until the day he joined the army, and the other soldiers used him as a decoy to take all of the fire from the enemies.

He survived, but was seriously wounded, especially his face.
And just when they were to do some surgery on him, he escaped the military base, so he can pay back for what the soldiers did to him.

So Crane did the surgery on his own buy using a stitched-up leather sack for his new head and face, and smelted on a few metal wires onto his hands, to make himself look like a scarecrow.

Crane also studied some voo-doo magic to make all of his weapons, and even uses it so he can haunt and/or strangle his victums in their sleep. *

Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow belongs to DC Comics and Warner Bros.

The best were the animated series and Arkham Scarecrow.
