Pretty much everybody's reaction . And Tumblr already covered the whole "Jake Goldman is a Pedophile" rumor spreading around.
First the Professor had yet another bad relationship, this time with a character that had a lot of potential to be an interesting character but was poorly executed.
Now Blossom is in an unofficial relationship with an animated alter ego of one of the writers of the show.
It's not as bad as another show I know that has poorly portrayed relationships & sickening so-called romances
; but it's like if "The Loud House" writers really did made Clyde end up with Lori (not in a bizarre future nor in Clyde's dream sequences, actually made 17 year old Lori date 11 year old Clyde, who has toxic affections towards her & gets nosebleeds via Anime cliche when even someone mentions her name).
That bad.
Speaking of anime, this is just out of character for Blossom as her "Powerpuff Girls Z" counterpart; where she's portrayed as an everyday boy-crazy, lazy, cry-baby, gluttonous Shojou/Magical Girl protagonist.
Blossom is suppose to be a mature girl for her age, even though she's a Kindergartner, while not perfect & can be full of herself, but always try to do the right thing & protect those in need.
She wasn't into boys yet (after all, she is only 5-6 years old), and had her mind focused on many other things than to be in a relationship (but that doesn't stop her & her sisters playing matchmaker for the Professor).
As for Jake Goldman's character, Jarred Sharpiro, he has absolutely has no character of his own other than to just be a F.R.I.
No interesting quirks, flaws, nor anything that would make the audience want to root for him & Blossom to be a One True Pairing of anyone.
And the so-called "love" between him & Blossom would've (kind of) worked if the crush was one-sided. Cliche it would be, yes, but it beats the badly written "will-they-won't-day"/"Shut up and kiss already" thing they have.
To make matters worse, not only did Jake Goldman wrote all of the episodes his character is in, he also wrote the episode "Painbow" [the LSD episode with that creepy panda Allegra & Blossom and Bubbles (5 year old girls, may I remind you) twerking like Miley Cyrus]!
